  1. Hi there, my advice would be to every day a few times d ay let the hamster sniff your hand, its probabably just realised how to be scared of things and wary of onjcts (hands) !!! put its fave food in your hand or just let it sniff it, you can get yummy hamster choc drops cheap from pet shop which they will sniff straight away, importantly just let it become familiear, DO NOT go straight for the kill by picking it up, it needs to adjust, something has obviously changed in the way it feels about people/hands/being picked up so you need  to reassure it by just letting the hamster come to you and it may take time but it will be so worth it and it will love being stroked and picked up, i had a beautiful little hamster Which started off nipping at me but i did what i have advised and evntually he really came on and was so sociable!!!!! (you know what i mean!!!)

  2. russian dwarf hamster are evil i dont even pick them up at work they always bite me (i work in a pet shop btw) they prefure to be with other hamster rather than being held if you wanted a hamster to hold you should of got a sibrian hamster

  3. get rid of him

  4. well i dont know how to stop them but maybe cuz theyre so small they dont feel confortable being grabbed by a huge hand. also, they dont like being disturbed when theyre eating or sleeping. maybe u can grab them more camly and dont grab them in a sudden.

    hope it helps! :]

  5. You should not stop handling her, or she will have won!

I have read that if your hamster bites you should use something such as a toothbrush to stroke them, so that if they turn round to bite they bite the toothbrush. Obviously this has no effect and continued practise should stop the biting!

After this you can handle her more; make sure you are holding her correctly and not hurting her. To do this, make your hand into a fist and hold it in front of her, let her sniff you and get used to you. Then flatten your hand - if she does not go onto your hand then gently guide her with your other hand from behind. If this still doesn't work, you can put her in a mug in order to get her used to being out of the cage.

Dwarf hamsters, also, are the most social breed and maybe she would like a friend?

Hope this helps! And if not, I'll have her ;)

  6. i have had all the breeds of hamsters and the best one is syrian . the problem might be how your picking it up are your cuping you hands under it or up from above if it the last then it will think your a predator and its lost its trust in you just start again and it should came around but it will be slow .
