Question:

My Hamster Has Had Food In One Of His Pouchs For 2 Weeks, Ive Got It Out. He Has Done It Again, Why ?

Why is he doing this ?

its really worrying me,

he is a dwarf hamster and is around 1 and a quarter years old.

  1. My sons used to have Hamsters.  They are natural hoarders who will often fill their pouches with food and hide it in various parts of their cages.    Theirs would would fill and empty them all the time...it was funny watching them..lol  Could be that your Hamster empties his pouches when you aren't looking so it will seem that  the food has been in them longer than it has been.  


  2. Is it happening with both pouches? If it is then I think he is probably just emptying his pouches when you aren't looking. Can you see a food pile anywhere? If you can't and you are sure he hasn't emptied his pouches for 2 weeks then he may have a problem emptying them himself. Hamsters usually have this problem if they've lost a front foot. Do his pouches look sore? If you are really worried then take him to the vet to make sure he's ok.
