My Hamster is a female Short Haired Black Syriann Hamster. She is really fat and she can fit up to 100 sunflower seeds in her mouth at once! I was wondering if my hamster's weight would be a problem? and if so, how do i reduce her waistline? (i have read about the sunflower seeds, i only give her 100 every two months)

  1. well maybe you are refilling the food too much

i had the same problem where i used to refill their food before it was all gone,

hamsters and other small animals tend to eat what they like first and then leave the worse bits for later

so mayb try leaving the food longer before replacing it and get her out of her cage into a small run you can put on your floor

as far as i know it wouldnt be a problem unless it got rely rely fat

    hope i helped :)

here is what you should give it

give it some of that every day and it should loose some weight

    hope this helps

  4. Hello :D

Don't worry! My hamster can fit like 50 peanuts in his mouth!

Just every day only put a small amount of food in his bowl each day and his natural instincts from the wild will tell him not to eat it all and save it, then when he runs out just fill it up with a small amount again :)

Hope I've helped,  and if you have any more questions about hamsters feel free to email me!

    Good luck!

  5. I wouldn't give her that much at once! Instead, give it 3 or 4 seeds a day, that way she can work off the extra calories!
