My Hermit crab Manney has been with us for a month now. The day he lost his claw we were camping. Do you think it was the stress from the trip and being haulled around to much?? We also got him a bigger cage and a friend would that maybe of stressed him out?? He is super tired but will come out of his shell maybe to eat or drink or find a better spot. I do not think he has that disease that makes their limbs fall off one by one in a couple days then die. Hes just been really tired and is'nt moving alot. I check him every mornning to see if hes alive. I have kept him isolated from my other crab Monte in a dark, humid and warm place in his hospitallity cage. Am I doing everything right?? But my main question is it normal for Hermit crabs to be tired the first couple days of loosing a big claw?? If so how long will it take for him to feel better???

  1. Your hermit crab is probably molting and just in case you might want to move him to a different tank the other crabs...his claw will grow back after he molts! Take care of him just like you did before he lost his claw he should be ok.. i hope this helps!

  2. no it is most likely molting
