My House sits on one side of a busy street. Do you have any idea to reduce the noise inside and out.?

  1. Fit double-glazed windows to help reduce noise coming into the house.  Grow a hedge or plant bushes out front if this is allowed in your area. They will act as a muffler against the traffic noise, they will absorb some of the pollution produced by passing vehicles, and will also improve your outlook.


  2. The flooring industry uses solid cork for walls and floors with rooms with a lot of noise,  such as recording studios,  upper level living areas where there are persons living downstairs, solid cork removes the tapping sound when someone walks over a hard surface floor like laminate or ceramic.

  3. Planting tall hedges or trees around your house might help.  Indoors, the use of thick curtains and area rugs might help reduce the noise as well.  Here's a site that might help you:
