My IM does not show the message that my friends sent?

Mine is doing the same thing.  I send a message and pops in the window, I see at the bottom that the friend is typing back but it never shows up.  I tried reloading that does not work.  Do you have windows 2000 pro too?

That is the reson I'm playing this Q&A on Yahoo.  BECAUSE MY MESSENGER WON"T WORK!!!.....LOL
