My IP Header is disable.i am using BSNL Dial up connection.How to enable it .what purpose it serve.?

It is said that if IP Header Compression is enabled,thespeed of internet will increase.At present it is shown as disabled as per EVEREST SOFTWARE .

  1. that lil compression wont lessens  urs speed atall actually ur using dial-up and its based upon traffic totally more the users u have u get less speed switch to broadband where u get exact speed according to urs plan

  2. well , IP header compression will only lessens a few bits of your outgoing traffic. I really doubt how much difference you will feel after compression is enabled.

    I think what you are interested in is compression of all traffic so that (hopefully) faster data exchanges takes place due to lesser amount of physical traffic( as its compressed ).

    Try enabling MODEM COMPRESSION IN THE PROPERTIES PAGE OF your modem. (flow control compression to be precise)
