My IPOD is not working!!!?

When I plug in my IPOD, Itunes only recognizes it for a minute then it disappears, it will not let me synch it...it has a pop up saying something along the lines of 'not a valid diskette, or no diskette'. It is fully charged. I really miss using my IPOD! I had to reinstall the newest version of Itunes and when I initially plugged in my IPOD it asked if I wanted to delete my library, I said yes (cause I wanted it deleted for room for my new stuff) ever since then, it will not work...HELP!!!

MaYBE it won't work, because there are no music to play. Remeber you said you answered YES to the question if you wanted to delete your library?
