  1. Spend more time with it!!

It could want a mate lol or just a buddy of its own kind. I would get another iguana (same gender though) if cage allows...

  2. Spend more time with it.  But?  Is it lonely, or bored?

Do you take your iguana outdoors, so it can enjoy direct sunlight while you hold it?  Or provide an outdoors enclosure for basking/sunning (do not let it overheat, though)?  If not, does it a have a good source of UVB in the cage?

Diet is very important.  They need fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as a good staple iguana food.  Be careful of house plants (many are toxic).  Diet also alters a bit with age.

Iguanas are NOT social animals, and fights between them can result in loss of limbs, or even death.

Misplaced aggression can occur (the iguana being mean to people, since it doesn't know it's only supposed to be mean to other iggies.  lol).  Males are very territorial.  Fights over the best perches can occur.

I wouldn't recommend keeping more than a single iguana per cage.  This is sort of like trying to fix a problem dog by buying it another dog, instead of just correcting/training the offending dog.

Research your animal, and its particular needs.  Just google "iguanas" and start from there.  Be sure its living space is adequate, and it has perchs/limbs for exorcising/basking/climbing.

    Enjoy your pet.

  3. Iguanas aren't really social creatures so they do not need the company of other iguanas.  In the wild, they only get together to mate and even then only for a very short time.

However, iguanas do like to have things to look at and some do enjoy interaction with humans.  Many iguana parents have reported that putting a fish tank near their iguana's enclosure has resulted in a captivated lizard.  I myself custom made my enclosure so it could be placed next to a window and thus the iguana has a grand view of the outdoors.  Make sure the area around the enclosure is not too boring and your iguana should be fairly entertained.
