Question:

I seen one fruit fly hoovering about my newly sprouted Dill plant. I just put up the jar of vinegar & oil to attrack him...is there something else I should be doing about this before it really does become a problem??

Also, when the seed package says " Well Drained Soil in Full Sunlight" I am assuming it means lots of light and considerably moist soil - with good drainage. Is this correct, or am I wrong and is that why I'm seeing the fruit fly.." Too Wet."

I thank everyone who responds...

  1. Just squash the fruit fly.

"Full Sunlight" = big sun, all day, as in outside.  Most herbs do better planted in the ground outside.  (Dill can grow 3' tall)

"Well drained soil" = soil that doesn't hold water, water can readillly drain preventing root rot.

  2. I don't know about the fruit fly, but you are correct about the soil, although it doesn't necessarily mean how moist it must be.
