My Japanese cucumber leaves has lots of white spots and mini green insects lately. the white spot looked white cuttoms and it's about 1/2" round in size and the mini green insisets stays on the revesed side of the leaves. The lower part of vine is turning yellow and it looked scratchy. Some leave turned yellow with lots of white lines looing like insect trails and eating marks. The new grown baby cucumbers dry out when it reach 3" long. Some cucumbers do survive after all.

What can I do to cure it? Please suggest.

  1. The little insects are aphids, they suck the "juice" out of the leave and stems.  The spots and lines could be damage from them eating.  They may also be a mold if powdery, or damage from other insects in your garden.  You need to get a aphid dust or spray for them.  Many beetles also love cucmbers and may damage them in larval and adult forms.

Ladybugs will take care of both aphids and beetles, so don't spray them.  If you want faster action then spray and dust.

If the insects damage a vine too much the cucumbers on them will die from lack of food and water.  It usually don't take much insect damage to make the thin vines too weak to sustain the fruit.

  2. Take it out of where you have it right now, then plant it somewhere else.

  3. are the green insects aphids?

Then you may need to get some ladybugs to eat them.
