My Jeep GC Laredo catalytic converter got stolen. Fremont, CA

My 96 Grand cherokee Laredo catalytic converter got stolen from park and ride in Fremont, CA got stolen and tampered car. I would like to know a good affordable place in Fremont, CA to get this fixed. Also need advise on towing the car to garage.

Will the insurance reimburse through claim? Is it advisable to claim?

  1. yes you can file a claim if you have full coverage that catalityc may cost you 400 to replace its a common theft these days they cut it off with a saw sall or unbolt it they can sell these stolen cats from 25.00 to 50.00,some contain a precious metal known as platnum.call a local exhaust shop for some prices.


  2. Go to your local Midas and replace it for about $150-$200. Not recomended used because it's probably almost done with it's life.  Not worthy with your insurance claim because you have to pay your deductible and pay a wear and tear charge for the converter.

  3. ahh they got you too sorry to hear that. im in milpitas and about a month ago they stole my friends converter off his toyota 4runner. it cost em around 250 for the converter itself he installed it himself saved money on labor

    you can still drive your car just its gonna be loud and your mpgs will be super horrible espicaally with your jeep im assuming its the v8 model...
