I found smoke coming out behind of my refrigerator. I investigated where the smoke was coming from and found it was coming from the relay swtich connected to the compressor. My refrigerator is just little over 5yrs old.I bought this from Sears but they are not willing to investigate this incident without any charges on me.I am so disappointed by the product and Sears.DSKwe have a kenmore fridge we bought in 2003 it's a two door fridge and freezer. yesterday at around 4 pm my mom left to go to the store and before she left she turned off the dryer. she was gone maybe 10 min. when her and my little sister got out the car they could smell something burning. when my mom opened the door to the house the smell hit her 10 times stronger. burning wire. she ran around franticly grabbing our small cats and she called my dad who told her to turn off the breakers and get out the house. i just so happened to call her from work 30 min away and i told her i was on my way and i called 911. the fire dpt was there when i got there and my mom was in the house and the firedpt was walking around and all they could say was that they smelled something but they didn't know where it was coming from. << WHAT!! then she flipped the breaker back on and the smell came back. one of the fire fighters was by the stove and icebox and said it's over here. they checked the stove and the smell was weaker. he turned his head around the icebox and there it was. the pulled it apart to find that it was a relay switch and then whole inside of it was burnt and melted. they said that it's not possible for that to catch fire but i don't believe it after all i've read regarding kenmore fridges. it was bought in 2003 after our trailer fire when a stove shorted out and caught a pan of greese on fire while noone was home. we lost our cat. rip precious. so this fridge was new when we got it in 03 and so it is just over 6 yrs old. burnt wire is burnt wire. i don't play with that. thank you jesus for letting my mom return when she did and thank you for keeping us all safe.
