My Kodak Easyshare M863 won't fully turn on. Any help?

Question

The camera was working fine, until one day I was using it and the batteries died. I did't charge it up until about 2-3 days later. I left charging over night, like I usually do when it dies, but when I tried to turn it on the next day it still wouldn't load up. It goes to the openning screen then shuts down again. I have tried to recharge the battery again and again, but still same results. Any help?

 I have the same junky kodak I say to fix this problem you must go to your local bridge and drope it to see if it will floats if it dont then is no good

...I was having the same problems... I took my time, cleaned off connections and the base - of the charging station, blew it out (etc) - everything works perfect (and this is after a year of it just sitting around not working!!)

I had the same problem and found the fix by doing this. Take the battery out and get the ac adapter that fits the bottom connector. It is hard to find that specific connector in stores, but I found a similar type camera in Best Buy that was on display with the ac cord in the camera. I plugged my camera into that adater and tried to turn it on several times until it worked. I think it resets something in the camera. It fixed it for about a year then it did it again. I repeated the fix and it worked again for another year. Now it is broken with another problem and I will replace it with another brand.

same thing here, purchased camera about 1 year ago and camera will not turn on... it goes on, the lens pops out and then shuts down... I trouble shot with analyst on chat and now i am holding for person to reveiw my case number.  I have owned cameras for YEARS and never had this issue... to top it off, on vacation right now and its raining out, grrrrrrr.  The support analyst I was chatting with asked me if I still had box & proof of receipt, are you kidding me!!! after a year, I am not a horder (think thats how you spell it)!

its the camera. i have the same one, i rarely use it, and it suddenly wont turn on at all, even with a new battery in it. i recharged the old one-- camera didnt turn on. i spent $30 on a new battery-- camera didnt turn on. im never getting another kodak.

My camera did the same thing.  I don't think it's the batteries, I think the camera is a piece of c**p.  This is my 2nd and last kodak camera!

well i have the same camera. Just bought 2 new batteries, and it still doesn't load. Your telling me I got 3 faulty batteries?
