My Kodak m763's optical lens refuses to open. How can I fix my camera?

My sister's friend fell on it while jumping on the bed. Now when I turn the camera, the beginning menu shows, but immediately turns off because well the camera's focus lens won't erect. How can I fix this myself?

Try this. Take the batteries out for 10 minutes. Push and hold the power button for 10 seconds. Then put fully charged batteries back on the camera. If this works you will know by having to reset the time/date. If it doesnt fix the problem, you will need to get it repaired if its under warranty or just buy a new one if not. The cost of the repair probably is more than a new camera. Make sure that you have good strong batteries.
