I recently bought a Acer aspire 1. On the 1st night, I got it at about 7 pm, the net worked. Ps. it has XP pro. I have a LAN connection. The Dell Latitude, my dad's laptop, from his company, does not allow installation b'cause he is not admin. So we bought this. The next morning, the Internet did not work. I use a BSNl broadband conn. in Goa.Can u tell me what IP add. I should use? I live in Caranzalem in Panjim. I tried Run "ping 192.168.1.1" it works with all replies. I tried "Ping 218.248.240.208" works again with all replies comming back. But my browser, IE 6, does not open pages. This is the weird part. My lan modem, has 5 lights. The 1st is power. 2nd is LINK and 3rd ACT. Both 2nd and 3rd are linked as ASDL. 4th is LINK and 5th is ACT. They are linked as LAN. But some times, the LAN of LAN connect. turns green and not orange. In the dell, it is always orange. But in the aspire, sometimes , when I connect the lan wire to port, the green light does not come on. and the LAN modem light all stay green. please tell me what to do!!!!
