Question:

My LCD Monitor after sometime of usage has lines on the top of the screen.What is the reason for this problem?

  1. Probably not, somewhere probably on the inverter board something is getting hot. Your best bet is use it as it is and start saving up for a new one. Inverter boards can be repaired/ replaced but usually it isn't cost effective to do so.  


  2. There could be two different causes for this problem:

    1. the monitor has gotten old and is beyond repair

    2. your graphics card may have deteriorated and need replacing

    To test which of these is the problem, test it out with another monitor.  If the problem persists on another monitor, then its the graphics card, if it doesn't persist on another monitor then the monitor is the problem.

    If the monitor is the problem, then there is not likely anything you can do other than contacting the manufacturer regarding warranty if you still have it for the monitor.

    A long shot... try disconnecting the monitor cable from the back of the PC and then reattach it, making sure its pushed in properly and secured correctly with the holding pins. Its a long shot but that could improve things for you.
