My LCD SCREEN for my Sony Handycam is DARK and colors are yellowish.?

My sony Handycam mini DV is about 2 years old. I had a full battery and I was recording on a new tape. I swapped between the nightshot and regular mode quite frequently during that 15 mins. But after that time of opening and closing the screen multiple times, the screen backround changed from BLUE to Black and the colors of the video when I recorded or played back became more yellowish.

sounds like a bad CCD imaging sensor, some of the sony HC series will have the CCD go bad, kinda looks like the colors are dripping, or purpleish, psychedelic?

Try a mild palm tap right above the lens/top of the camera, the CCD is there, it may have to go to Sony for replacement (expensive) or be sold off as parts on ebay (common).
