I have a Sony Bravia LCD TV, the picture went screwy the other day and I saw a tiny crack in the picture. In talks with the repair guy, I moved the TV so I could put the old one in so I could have a TV to watch while I awaited a repair on the LCD. When troubleshooting with the repairman over the phone I noticed the crack had spread into a "spider web". The repairman said he couldn't fix it now. Told me to call Sony. What do you suggest I tell Sony so that I can negotiate an exchange/return??

  1. Nothing will ever get them to exchange or return it. I won't say these things NEVER happen on their own but it happens so insanely rarely that there is just no way they will ever accept it as a manufacturer's defect. Especially if you have owned it for any length of time. 99.9999999 percent of the time this type of thing is caused by dropping or hitting the panel. Physical damage is not covered by the warranty. You might have better luck making a damage claim with your homeowner's insurance if you have it.
