  1. heating element

    high limit switch

but the first thing I would do is to clean out the vent hose. you can blow it out with a leaf blower or you can get a brush

  2. It could be several things but they are all pretty easy to fix. You should search for dryer trouble shooting or something similar. There are a lot of pages that will help you.

  3. ITS PROBABLY A BAD THERMOSTAT,OR BURNT WIRE,COULD BE THE ELEMENT BUT DON'T THINK SO,MORE THAN LIKELY ITS A BURNT WIRE OR A BAD THERM. THEY HAVE THEM IN SEVERAL PLACES ON THE UNITIF YOUR UP TO IT, TAKE THE MOD.#&SN# GO TO SEARS, THEY SELL REPAIR KITS JUST FOR THAT, NOT HARD TO INSTALL,& WILL SAVE YOU ALOT OF MONEY FOR A SVC. CALL

  4. Unplug dryer. Remove shields to access sensors. Test sensors and heating element with continuity tester {radio shack about ten bucks for all in one volt-ohm meter, continuity tester}. Should get tones after disconnecting leads to sensor or heating element and touching each end with ends from continuity tester. If no tone then bad unit. Most appliance repair part shops have parts for most any dryer or can tell you when you bring in the part where to go to get it. MUCH CHEAPER than calling repair man. Dryers are VERY simple.

  5. If you have no experience, you are better off  making a service call (maybe under warranty) i have done this but requires trouble shooting, the switches like the thermostat, heating coils etc.

  6. San Diego,

Some dryers have a reset sw inside the door, they will cut out if over heated, worth a quick look..

    hope this helps,
