We have had it since Nov of 2006 and it did this once last year but magically came back on. We turned it off like normal and when we went to go watch tv again and tried to turn it on and nothing?? Anyone have any tips. I don't want to have to take it in and pay someone to look at it. We've only had it for a year and and half! Please help!!!

  1. Dont buy home theater in the box surround sound systems...this is what happens, they are poorly made. Go to best buy and get a receiver and choose out som decent speakers from the Magnolia deparment if there is one in your local store...then just get a seperate Upconvert DVD player or better yet a Blu-ray player....and your all set to go....

  2. It is impossible to diagnose the problem from a distance.  So try this:

    Run the Drill !

    1. Turn the DVD off and UN Plug it. Leave off for at least one minute, than restart.

    2. Check all the connections.  The problem may be in the connecting wires between the DVD and the TV.

Try to use wires which you know work. Borrow them from another component or buy new.

    3. Check the power supply.  Plug a lamp into the wall outlet to test it.

    4. If all this fails it is probably cheaper in the long run

to replace the unit with an new one.

It will most likely cost at least 50% of the purchase price of an new unit to repair it. That is a waste of money.

    Good luck
