This Lacebark Elm tree was about 6 ft. tall and pretty young. It was moved late in the spring and now all the leaves are falling off and drying up. It has been getting a ton of water but, it is still drying up. What can I do to save it?

  1. Are you sure that the tree is dying from a lack of moisture.  If you put "a ton" of water on it you may have in fact over watered it......

It's a moot question at this point because as small as the tree is it's likely done for.......Sorry to be the bearer of bad news

  2. There may not be much that you can do about it.   It's most likely gone into shock from the transplanting and time will just have to run it's course.

A lot of plants die from transplant shock, but could take three to five years to happen as it can take that long for the tree to accept and grow in the new location.

Hopefully, just because the Lacebark Elm is hardy to begin with, your tree will make a speedy recovery.

    Good luck!
