My Laptop Won't Start Up?

Question

I have a Sony Vaio and it won't start up. I push the power button and the lights for the number and alpha lock light up, as well as the light on the bottom signaling the computer is on.

Nine times out of ten the screen will just stay blank and nothing will happen. Very rarely though the Vaio message will show up on the screen -- like the little welcome message. But then nothing. Windows won't start or anything.

Does anyone have any idea why this could be?

I'm going to take it later but I'm just curious...

lol that happened to me once with my dads laptop.you have to charge it coneect it and just leave now try starting it!

I understand your concern,

It would be difficult to tell from here if something has broken to the LCD connection. but I could suggest you following which will make sure Laptop is starting or not and if your LCD panel is a problem or not or something else is a problem ! :D

take a normal desktop monitor and connect the VGA cable to the laptop 's VGA out and turn the laptop ON, the see if you the display on desktop monitor .

if you see display on external monitor then there is something wrong inside laptop which you must show a repair guy from sony.
