My Laptop is busted will somebody please help?

i have a hp pavillion dv2000. one day i turned it on and it just stopped working. i get a faint image on the screen of the hp logo then it just goes blank. all the lights are on (except the screens back light) nothign in the laptop i on not the hardrive or the fan nothing and on a side note i recently got a new hard drive

you FL inverter is gone this powers the back light the part ia about 30 bucks..

and is relativly easy top fix.

You havev to  open the LCD case, to do this  look on the edges of the LCD remove the small covers possably plastic tape or rubber feet.  un s***w the case

In s***w the screen then on the botton there is the inverter

Phone up or email the company and see if they help or go to the nearest computer place like PC world.

get a new one , it is cheaper the power supply shot ann can by replaced it if you mechanic skills are fairly good you can replace it. Remember to ground your self

Could be some misplaced cables like connecting them somewhere else on the motherboard

maybe your contrast got messed with. try turning it back to 50/50

i think u just need a new laptop its not rare that a laptop does those things so your best bet is to get a new one

It sounds like to me you have been hit with a virus. The same thing happened to me on my last computer I had. Do you have anti-virus protection? If you have a recovery cd available, try that. If not, you more than likely will need to take it in to a specialists to fix it.
