My Leopard Gecko isn't nocturnal!?

Question

I've had my leopard gecko, Reptar, for about a half a year. He is very healthy and well fed. But, for some odd reason, loves to sun bath all day. When I turn the lights off he goes in one of his hiding places and sleeps fo the whole night. Or, that is, until I turn the lights back on. I cant find any reason why, but he loves to sit in this corner of the aquarium in different positions all day. I have checked around 4 am, and hes asleep. Any Answers?

hes nocturnal for sure trust me my gecko would play around during the day and at night he would go in his caveuntil 1 time i wake up and go look at him and he is eating pretty much every food item in the cage and then he notices me and runs sooo fast back to his cave it was crazy i never knew leos were so fast and active

if you turn him loose, you'll never see him in daylight again! hahahaah oh, man.
