My Lexmark scanner has developed a fault.?

The scanner was working fine but now a black band appears in the middle of any scan performed, it has been cleaned and reinstalled with no change, any solutions?

  1. I have had lexmark printers , but now using H.P all in one and had no problems and has good solution centre, Dump your lexmark and get ,hp if you can afford it.

  3. I am afraid that there is an fault with your printer that is not curable, I would suggest that you should cut your losses and get a slightly more expensive one

  4. That's the problem with Lexmark, I'm afraid - cheap to buy but go wrong frequently and you pay well over the top for ink.

    You might just need to clean the glass or perhaps the soft back panel that hold the paper to be scanned has been damaged - but if those things fail, assuming that you can still just print without the black band appearing, then it would be less expensive to buy another scanner - preferably one of a different brand!

    If you get the black band with a straightforward print that doesn't come from the scanner, then perhaps a head clean would do the trick, but quite honestly, I doubt it.
