I have an 11 year old sis wich i share a yahoo wit but she's kinda fat and i'm really worried she's 11 and weighs 220 pounds wat can she do except going to the gym because she's only 11 and you have to be 12!! by the way she 5'6!!!

    And put her in activities. Like a sport or dance.

  3. If she is that fat at 11 you should turn in her parents for child abuse. Get her stomach stapled and no sugars or sweets for 2 years. She shouldn't eat more than 1,000 calories a day for at least a year. Do it now or it will never get done. She shouldn't feel happy or good about herself. That is something she can work toward. Why did you wait until 220? Start today.

    Its not just about going to the gym its about eating correctly for your body type.

    I recently spent a week and half living with my friends family and discovered that most people eat like c**p. White bread/carbs/no fruit/no veggies/ nothing healthy.... So basically dieting is the best way to start - not intense dieting just making sure to maintain a balanced diet.

    Take her to a nutritionist. At that young of an age obesity is considered a disease, and a doctor can help your sister to lose the weight an live a normal live. She is about 100 pounds at the most overweight... That is quite scary..

    And yes she can go to the gym if she has an adult accompianning her. It is very sweet of you to care about her in this way - just make sure to not bring up her weight as calling her fat. Shes chunkier. Don't make her feel insecure about weighing this much, its not her fault. Make it clear to her that its not her fault because otherwise she may end up nursing a different type of disease her entire life   - bulimia or anorexia. Or even an eating disorder which can control her entire existance... I struggled with one and let me tell you binge eating and bulimia is no fun at all.

    Love her and support her. Also there are other ways of becoming fit like engaging in a sport outside of school or joining a club at the gym which is for younger children. Running and biking and hiking all of that are key ingrediants to leading a healthy lifestyle

Well I'm 11.I'm 90 somethin pounds and around 5'0.My friend is your sister's height and was 262 at 9.She's 11 now and 315.I don't think you should worry.As long as her self esteem isn't low or nothin.She should join a sport or somethin like soccer or swimming or gymnastics.I think gymnastics would be your best option,that's what I'm doin.Also don't let her eat after 5:00pm.She will lose weight FAST!Trust me it works!

    I suggest weightwatchers.  They have a program for kids that works on eating heathy choices.
