My Little Bichon's leg?

all of sudden my six mo. old bichon frise is hopping like a bunny, favoring his left rear leg. how do i knw if it is his patella?

I know this is what you'll hear from everyone, but it's true. Take him to the vet. Your vet is trained in physical exam skills and radiology (x-rays) and will be able to tell you whether or not it is a luxating patella and whether or not it's bad enough to warrant surgical correction.
