  1. I found it easier to do out of a forward inside 3-turn than out of a long back edge.

Can you do a backspin?  It helped me to think of the loop as just a backspin with a little hop.  :)

Be sure to use your arms.  Really scoop down and up as you jump.  Getting lots of knee bend before you jump helps too.

And make sure you stay over your right side (if you jump CCW).

You can practice them on the floor too, in your tennis shoes.

Keep practicing:)  The more you work at it, the sooner you'll get it.

  2. the loop comes more from the spring in the legs, so when you're about to jump, think "bend, scoop, up". That's when you bend your knees, swing your arms in a scooping motion to pull them in, then jumps. that's what got me all around.

  3. do you do it going from a right foot inside edge or from a two foot inside edge take off? it's easier to do it from a forward inside edge. make sure that the edge is deep, jump right after you turn, and pull in your arms. try not to tuck your ankles together; you'll know what i mean after you learn your double loop. if you do it from a forward inside edge, also try to keep your hips parallel to the ice. another way to do it is from a backward inside edge. try to go fast, prepare by straightening your legs, then bending them. make sure to snap it real fast and don't lift your left foot off; lift both feet off at the same time. off ice also really helps a lot. if you want more support, ask your coach to put you on the harness

    good luck!
