My Love,My Marriage and My Felon..

My husband went to prison 4 years ago and since things are so expensive in the North East I moved South. He is being released in 5 months and I can`t wait until he is home with me.He is a good man despite what people say,and he has always been a good husband and father.

My problem is where I relocated to in South Carolina may not be to friendly to him with finding a job and even renting a place to us,I rent and I know my landlord would evict us.SO do I give up everything, being my job and rent and move back to the NYC area where I know my daughter and son are happier anyway,or should I just stay put and hope for the best.We have no family here what so ever but he says he wants to make a fresh start and he will be on parole until 2015.Please give me some advice about housing and jobs for him..Im lost..

  1. sorry but a good husband and father? really? go to texas i here they are really good to ex cons down there.

  2. first of all, where ever he is, they usually help in that area, however, if he doesnt want the help, and understandably so, he may want to do it on his own, youre landlord has no business knowing your business, so how does he know about your husband?

However, if i were you, (*AND I am in the SAME boat), i would move somewhere, and start out fresh, together again. Mine is awaiting appeal, worse case scenario, is 3 more years, (god forbid!..it sucks huh?? a living h**l here on the "outside!!)...but we will move...far north, upstate new york, i have no desire to be in NYC, where he is from...and start fresh there.  I dont know enough detail, but there are programs that can help him get work. Again, if he wants it.

I am lucky in that area...mine is an attorney!!!( ironic huh??? )...so he can work from home......Again, dont stress, try not to, so husband doesnt see you stress, be thankful hes home and just KNOW its all going to work out. Have you been to "prisontalk.com" ?? go , they have all kinds of resources, and support too! good luck to you and lucky you, i hope i only have few more months of this neverending nightmare!!
