My Marine Corps roomate is a mess?

Question

he leaves trash everywhere, he's brand new to the fleet, and he's suicidal. I've been taking his trash and such and throwing it up on his rack but he just sleeps in it!

ive had civilized and not-so-civilized talks with him but nothing seems to work

ive talked with his mentor and he's talked to this kid (he's only 19) but nothing seems to work

i need some ideas, but they cant be TOO hazing-ish because as much as i could tell this kid not to go to our gunny, he probably still would, so im asking some Marines out there for some creative ideas to get him to keep the room clean

the creative the better! (but try not to get me in trouble)

The guy is suicidal and all you care about is that he's messy?  You need to get him some help.  Go to a chaplain and ask him for some assistance.  You don't want to have to face his Mom if he hurts himself do you?  Or answer questions in the ensuing investigation!  Get him some help.  Please.  You are supposed to have each other's backs.

You know what happens when field days comes. If his **** is nasty then you both fail. Your the senior Marine in the room so it is up to you to fix your problem.

If he is new as you say and he has no respect for you or his duties then can you imagine him in several months once he gets settled  it.

Fires we don't put out today will forever burn.

Your a Marine. Handle the situation as you have been taught to. Do not sell him out until it is a last resort, but dont wait to long or you will be paying for his non sense

Chain of command would be best if you don't want to beat his *** which it sound like he needs. I had 8 diff room mates and had to take things into my own hands twice, 1 went to command got I got lucky commander knew my dad and me when I was a kid. the other time they asked to be moved. Good Luck
