My Miss Aurelia to be sent to Florida Farm to physically prepare her for the next season
The 2-year-old Steven Asmussen trained filly, My Miss Aurelia is undefeated in her 4 starts including the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies run at Churchill Downs last month. She is by a massive margin the winner of the 2-year-old filly champion of
2011.
After her flawless juvenile season, her connections would be aiming real high in the filly’s 3-year-old career, and plans for that are already in motion like the calm before the storm as My Miss Aurelia will be sent to Ocala area from Churchill Downs.
The purpose behind the shift of surroundings is to relax the filly before her 3-year-old career begins, and most definitely after her perfect season and a Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies win, My Miss Aurelia is hoped to be pointed toward all the classic races
in her division next year.
The brief freshening up before the big season should serve as the key ingredient before the all important hectic season.
Owned by George Bolton and the Stonestreet Stables of Barbara Banke, the owners were vocal about the fillies plans in a media release on the behalf of the filly said that My Miss Aurelia will be on a vacation but simultaneously she will turn in a few works
on the basis of her routine training before her 3-year-old career begins.
Further it was said that after her three length victory in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies, My Miss Aurelia has developed a sore shin after that race, but it is something which will not sideline her for a longer period of time.
The main reason for sending My Miss Aurelia over a vacation is to sort out that minor injury to ensure that it doesn’t come in the way in her next season where her real test begins.
The Kentucky bred daughter of Smart Strike, out of mare My Miss Storm Cat by Sea of Secrets, My Miss Aurelia right after breaking her maiden jolted graded stakes company with a win in the Grade 2 Adirondack Stakes at Saratoga at about 6 ½ furlongs and then
she landed the Grade 1 Frizette Stakes at Belmont Park over at a mile.
