I have asked this question before but it hasnet been resolved. My Mitsubishi hc5000 projector is projecting green images. I am using an HDMI cable. I can still watch TV and DVDs but they are in green. I have also turned it on and off unpluged and repluged all wires. Could it have anything to do with heat? Any sugestions would be great.

  1. Hi Bryson

You have a nice projector there... Let's see if we can get you up and running.

First thing we need to do is check your setup menu and make sure your HDMI setting is in (Auto Mode) and not Y\C\b1 or 2. If it is (and thats what it sound's like to me) your image well be displayed in green or not at all.

I hope this helps. I have installed this projector many times. I do like the HC6000 as I love wide screen's.

But I'll take a HC5000 anyday however. Nice projector!

  2. Well...first of all, I would try using another cable...it couldbe that your HDMI cable went bad. If it's not the cable...then it's the projector. You'll have to take it in to get fixed.

  3. I hope that wowbango or the spongy guy that looks like he's having too much fun is right. The alternative is uglier.

First, you did check your tint control, right? Of course you did.

You have a color video projector that does not rely on an NTSC color burst signal to trigger the chromanance circuitry. I know, a lot of Greek, but what that means is if the color circuitry is failing inside your projector, you will see a "Y" signal with sinc only, and it will project green. You will need to have the unit serviced by a Mitsubishi professional.

Best of luck, and like I said, hope the other guys are right. Bob's answer looks promising. A failure inside an HDMI cable would most likely display cyan or magenta.
