My Molly just had about 30 fry. I chased them and put them in a 1.5 gallon temporarily. I just set-up my breeding net for them. I have the net with thin mesh with a plastic structure. I'm wondering should I add gravel or plants in the net or do I just drop them in like that?

  1. i personally dont like breed nets and the sorts due to the fact that you have a large risk of losing fry from poor circulation. i usually set up in a tank plants such as west westeria and hornwart or frill plants(live is best) to give them places to hide until they are too big for their parents to eat them. also make sure ur careful when feeding because un eaten food can kill your fry b4 any other fish, also make sure you either use fry food or take tropical flakes and turn into pulp.

  2. I say leave them in the 1.5 gallon and but a filter for it. The nets are about 1/3 of a gallon, so the fry will have more room in the tank. You can put some in the net and some in the tank, but more in the tank. You need to acclimate them properly, that is extra important with fry!

  3. Thats good. I put a plant and marbels in my breeding net so if the fry feel scared they can just hide.
