Ok well my mom thinks ice-skating is to expensive for privet lessons for 30 mins. And please don't say (Try group lessons... Cause I hate thoes) I want to get my own pair of ice-skates and all the equipment. Thing is I used to ice-skate and I quit, and I do quit a lot of things I start but I want to prove to her that this time I mean buisness and I will not quit. How is a good way to make my mom buy me skates and join me up for privet lessons?

  1. I did group lessons in college. I did it through the college so it was in my tuition. I got my own skates. I signed up myself. Private lessons are way to expensive for someone not fully dedicated. Respect your mom and realise that she isnt made out of money.

  2. i feel bad for my parents, my coach charges $90 an hour and my custom fit harlicks and gold seal blades run for a total of around $1500

  3. give her half of the cost from your own money to offset the cost OR wait till you can afford the lessons on your own.

  4. Pass your English class.

  5. im betting your mom paid for privates before and you quit and now she feels like that pattern is going to repeat itself I dont blame her money doesnt grow on trees. You need to regain her trust in you meaning you need to suck it up and take group lessons until she sees you are serious about it.

  6. Keep asking and soon she will give in. It works on my mom.

  7. Save up money, and buy it yourself.

  8. If you already had lessons and quit, about the only way I, as a mother, would agree to try them again would be if you were willing to work for the privilege - either extra chores or getting a part-time job if you are able in order to pay for them.

  9. Suck up mightily and she might let you take group lessons in rental skates.

You're asking her to lay out hundreds of dollars for an activity that you already quit once.  There's no one here who can tell you how to make your mom do anything, so your best bet is to go with what you can get.

  10. Stop calling her Meany

  11. being a meany??  r u like 5

  12. All I can tell you is that maybe you can use birthday money, or do shores around the house; I know you don't want group lessons, however, since you've mentioned in the past you have the habit of quitting, you would have to enroll in group lessons and stick with it in order  to show your mom you mean business.

Figure skating is a supper expensive sport. I am a parent, I hate to say I understand your mom's view.

It is up to you to show your mom that you've matured and she can trust you again.

  13. commit to doing chores as well as practice,,and earn the skates
