My Mothers Wedding...Dress Advice Needed?

Question

So I wore this elegant, beautiful dress to my moms second wedding 10 years ago. Well needless to say it didnt work out btw them. Well moms getting married again this Sat. and I dont have a dress to wear. Well her colors are black and white, and my dress is black and white. Is it completely inappropriate of me to wear the same dress to this wedding.

It still fits and I always am trying to find somewhere to wear it. Its beautiful and was expensive.

Thoughts?

I am kindof superstitious so for my I think it is inappropriate to wear the same dress.  It is 10 years old so I can't see it being your best choice.  I understand that this is the third wedding for your mom and is probably more casual then the others but I think you could be nice and put some effort into the dress.  Just my opinion.

It is inappropriate...Go out and buy a new dress..Come on, why so cheap!  Macys.com, LordandTaylor.com, Nordstroms.com, bluefly.com, edressme.com, dillards.com.  You can get a nice dress for under $100.  Buy a color that coordinates with the black & white which is practically anything on the color wheel.

I would ask your Mother if she would mind? After all it is her day. You and her will be the only ones that would probably know that it was not bought just for this day. Congrats to your Mother!

Inappropriate just because it's the same dress or because it's too formal? If it's the former, I agree with the "wear it" vote. If it's because it's too formal then bite the bullet and just wear something from your closet. If it's because of the wedding party colours, it's difficult to avoid the colours always, and this is your formal dress. Wear it.
