My Motorola Q9h freezes at the windows mobile start screen. What can I do?

I have to take the battery out to get it to turn off. Even when I do this and turn it back on the same thing happens. I was able to turn it on quite ok before now, until I noticed I couldn't access my contacts or my call history. I turned it off to restart it and I've been having the problem since

Your best bet is to hard reset the phone.  However this will erase all saved documents, contacts, email, etc.

The phone will be in the same state it was out of the box.

To hard reset - make sure the phone is off - hold down E & Z on the keyboard while you turn the phone on.
