i was told that there is a new memorandum that NBI Clearance of filipino workers here in Spain should be submitted to the Spanish Emabassy in Manila for authentication/apostilles, the problem is.....we've learned from one of the security guard that getting an appointment for the submission will take a month and will have to wait for additional 10 to 15 days for the release, and also we were told that we have to call thru the call center for the appointment. For me, i can't find the logic of calling thru the call center while we can call thru our own landline/payphone or cellphone. I do hope that there is somebody out there who works for the Spanish Embassy and can give us a more clearer picture about this querry.

  1. Zany, I do not work for any embassy but I can give you an educated guess as to the logic for the call centers.

If an employees for the embassy answers the phone, they will spend time answering queries and booking appointments instead of processing applications. They were not hired because of their telephone answering skills. The embassy could sub-contract this job. Applicants tend to ask so many questions even those that do not apply (yet) to their cases, thus extending the talk time. A call center agent will not have any answer to this query as (s)he does not work in the embassy. All questions will be answered during the actual interview by the consul. With regard to the processing time you mentioned, what can you do if this is the case? Book that appointment if you are really needing the clearance. Good luck!**
