My Ninja 250 smokes out the tailpipe, what could the problem be?

Worst and Best case scenarios, would you buy a bike that does this if it was 2003 Ninja 250 for $1500?

Rings are bad. And no. I bought a 2002 in perfect shape with 9000 miles on it for $1000.

no. that means its burning oil.... i have a 2004 ninja 250 and i bought it for 1200 and it only has 3500 miles on it.... wait and you will find a better deal.

(its a very slow bike to) ..... dissapointing

What colour is the smoke first of all?  Black or blue?

Black, it's running rich and is out of tune.  Blue, it's burning oil
