Question:

My Nintendo Wii is acting weird, what is wrong with it?

Ok so whenever I have my Super Mario Galaxy disc inside, what happens is its like the Wii is trying to eject it while the Wii is off. So the blue light keeps coming on randomly. A few hours later after playing Mario I noticed this, when I removed the disc it was still hot, like if the Wii was on (I know, for a fact it was not on at anytime). What can I do to fix this, if anything? It sounds like there is something wrong with the disc. Also, while playing Galaxy, there was a surge on my Wii and the power in my house went out and the Wii shut off for a few hours. Might there be something really wrong with my disc?

  1. Did the power go out because of the Wii, or did it go out for a different reason (storm, telephone wires)?  When the power goes out and the Wii is plugged into the wall outlet, then sometimes, the Wii becomes defective because it was "shocked".  It is best to plug the Wii into a surge protector to prevent that from happening.

If you were playing the game for four hours or so, then the disk may be hot because it was being played, but that doesn't necessarilly mean that it's broken.  If you want to check with Nintendo, that would probably be a good idea:  http://www.nintendo.com/corp/contact.jsp

    Good Luck!
