My On Demand is not working!?

My dad just installed comcast on demand yesterday and today the screen kept flickering and the sound went off for a couple of seconds. This happened on all the channels including on demand. When i turned it on at 11:30 it flickered a lot more and then the screen just went blank. I tried flipping the channels but it was all a black screen with the notification- One Moment Please this channel should be available shortly... but it never showed up. I tried watching something on on demand but it would say- cannot access or something like that. At 12:45 i turned it back on and it worked for less than a minute until it flickered then went black again. I only have on demand on one tv and i dont know what could be wrong with it. 10 points to best answer!!!

  1. Okay, I think every long term Comcast subscriber has experienced this. See, your cable system is fully digital, and it needs to download computer data to get channel listings and on demand services. Transmissions take time, sometimes upwards of twenty minutes. Since most of the Motorola cable boxes don't have battery backup, you'll have to wait again if you incur a power outage or unplug the box.

You, however aren't even getting the plain stations without data. This means something is wrong with your installation, and you should call Comcast for support. If other televisions can recieve analog cable, then just bring your box to your local depot for exchange, as its almost assuredly defective.

  2. Sometimes when I turn to Oxygen or a channel in the 100's or higher, it always says that. What i do is just wait an hour and then turn on that channel and it works. It akso helps if you use the guide to go to the channel. And also because of the flickering it could be your t.v. I hope this helps!!!
