  1. How about running the kitten to a vet?  No one except a vet who has examined the kitten can tell you what's wrong or how to fix it.  I wouldn't waste another minute getting the kitten some help. Run.

While you're at the vet, please make an appointment for your cat to be spayed. If your parents aren't willing to provide vet care for the animals, you certainly don't need any more.

  2. why dont you take them to a vet??? Your other kitten had discharge and stuff you need to gat help for them or they will die.

  3. GET THAT BABY TO THE VETS. sounds like the flee powder you use is toxic to the kitten... or the mother  had been into something she should not have...and passed it thru her milk...to the kitten...

  4. if you actually care for your cats you will take them to a vet. we cant help you because 1. we arent vets and 2. we cant look at the cats even if we were.

    [EDIT]

You shouldn't have cats in the first place if you aren't even willing to take them to the vet when they are sick. If you are willing, but cannot afford it, you shouldn't have a cat either. It is the law that you provide proper vet care for any animals in your care.

Did you even ask your vet before putting flea powder on a kitten?? It is very toxic to them! You should not put it on the kittens OR the mother cat.

    [edit 2]

And im sure you feel much better about not taking them to the vet, because it turns out to be a non-preventable illness..... but what if it hadnt been? your parents really need to take responsibility for their animals.

  5. You're aware of course that many of the over the counter flea products are lethal to adult cats, let alone kittens?  There are so many lawsuits that Hartz, for instance has settled - seizures and deaths due to their flea products.  Very few flea products - even vet prescribed ones - are safe to use in kittens under 8 weeks old.

There is nothing you can do for the remaining kitten at home.  A dropping temperature in a kitten (or cat) is a sign that the end is near - sorry to be so blunt, but facts are facts.

If your parents aren't willing to provide basic vet care for your cat and her kittens - then perhaps it's time to surrender the cat to a shelter where she will get spayed and perhaps find a home that will take care of her.

  6. Vet!  Vet!

  7. keep the kitten warm, get off the computer and find an emergency vet!

  8. It's possible that the kittens had a weird reaction to the flea powder. A vet would know best, but if the kittens were unplanned your budget may not allow it. We have two inside cats that we take to the vet regularly and had spayed and neutered, but we also live in the country and have a lot of free roaming cats. Of course, we can't care for them all beyond food, water, and love. Without a vet, the best we can do is guess.

I would suggest making sure the kitten is eating, changing their bedding if it hasn't been changed in a while, and not messing with it too much since it's so little. Wal-Mart sells kitten formula if you wanted to try feeding it yourself. Also make sure the mother is being attentive. I've seen mothers kind of decide they're tired of their kittens and then just abandon them. Definitely try and get your parents to take it and the mother to the vet, but if they won't then just make the kitten and its mother comfortable and hope for the best. Sometimes these things happen and there's not a whole lot we can do about it.

    Good luck!
