  1. Feed him more often instead of leaving him to fend for himself?

I had a goldfish once that picked up a rock and got it stuck in his mouth. He got it out on his own, it was stuck pretty good though.

I never heard of a fish vet.. I bet that will cost alot...

    sorry about your catfish!

  2. do they really have vets for fish? lol never heard such a thing

  3. well you should try going to a vet cause if you are not experienced you may kill the oscar fish too.a vet is trained for these kind of situation and your oscar fish will be fine in no time.so hurry up and take your fish to the vet.

p.s.yes every vet is also a fish vet!:) its something they learn during their practice as vets....at least in my country:)...and its the same vet that threats the fish in an aquarium

  4. The only way to extract it would be with a pair of tweezers and pull it out.

All catfish (and loaches as well) have spines designed to stop predators eating them. Depending on what species of catfish you have, some of these spines are poisonous. Try and manually remove the catfish gently, it will probably be dead by now, the oscar may or may not survive depending on the damage done.
