I have the resolution set at 1920 by 1080. For some reason 720p movies look better than 1080p is that because I need a better hook up or what?

  1. Your using the wrong cable. You need an HDMI cable. Get an HDMI to VGA converter cable. An HDMI cable is what is going to give you TRUE HD Video and Audio.

And the only 1080p movies out there are BlueRay.. so unless your PC has a built in BluRay player your not getting true 1080P anyway.. so u really cant compare.

  2. well a DLP supports 1080 but doesnt output it as nicely as a plasma or a lcd tv.. and a VGA cable isnt the best option in any situation.. try DVI or HDMI if possible.. or a component cable..

  3. Most probably either your VGA card can't support 1920x1080 or your TV can't support 1080p from a VGA input.

So even though you output 1080p, the TV does some additional scaling which distorts your picture.

    Use 720p.
