  1. install and run"ccleaner" it clears out all temp files and cookies left evey time you browse the web.

    it will help with speed.

    hope this helps

  2. try using ultimate defrag it will remove more of the pc clutter on your c:\ than a simple defrag from your control panel. I'll give you my free version so enjoy.

  3. Delete old files

download Ccleaner and use that to delete temp files http://www.ccleaner.com/ for that (totally free)

Also look into defragging (start -> run type 'defrag') or look into getting a 'professional defragmentation utility'  I recommend perfectdisk by raxco (available at: http://www.raxco.com/) however that does cost money.

  4. try deleting some files & programs that you don't use anymore

  5. for no money:

uninstall avg, and only run it when you suspect your computer has a virus. if you can't tell if you have a virus or not, you don't have one worth worrying about. ironically, most antivirus softwares will slow down your computer much more over time than the virus ever could. turn off all the windows safety nonsense. then defrag your hard drive and run disk cleanup. a slight possibility also remains of hard disk damage, but its rare.

    for a little money:

buy a little more ram, its cheap, and windows vista is a big ram hog. an extra 1gb of ram can really go a long way depending on what you might use your computer for. buy a new processor, this costs a little more, but a good quad core or dual core will be better utilized with all the c**p going on in the background of vista. buy a new hard drive and run your programs on one drive and keep your storage on another. you'd be surprised how this can make a difference in multitasking.

  6. IT IS A VERY RARE OCCASION WHEN YOU SEE SOMEONE ANSWER THIER OWN QUESTION!

    "I am using Vista."

    O_O

"windows safety centre checking my computer everyday"

    -_-

OTHER THEN THAT WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO IS KEEP DOWN ON ALL THE c**p

THE SUGGESTIONS FROM OTHER PEOPLE DOWN HERE SO FAR ARE PRETTY GOOD

I ALSO RECOMEND KEEPING DOWN ON THE c**p ON YOUR HARD DRIVE

TRY AND KEEP YOUR TRAY ICONS TO A MINIMAL

AND MAKE SURE YOU GOT NOTHING RUNNING IN THE BACKGROUND OR UNDER "START UP" ON THE PROGRAMS MENU

ALSO UPGRADES ARE PRICEY AND VARY IN WORTH

SP PERHAPPS A DOWNGRADE TO WINDOWS XP?

    TRICKY  BUT DOABLE

ANYAY YEAH I HOPE ALL THIS HELPS ^_^

    OH WAIT ONE MORE THING!!

SEARCH YOUR WHOLE HARD DRIVE FOR THESE FILES.....

    *.CHK

    *.TMP

ANYTHING THAT COMES UP UNDER THESE SEARCHES CAN BE DELETED (UNLESS THEY ARE IN USE)

    SO YEAH

    GOOD LUCK!!!

    AND REMEMBER...............

    ASK NO QUESTIONS

    HEAR NO LIES

  7. it could be because you have to many viruses in your computer and you need to run a scan or it could be that your computer memory is full so it takes a while to load things up.

  8. Try

    - defragging harddrive

    -  registry fix

    -  removing temp files/internet temp files

    -  spyware check

  9. buy a mac...far quicker!!!!

  10. Use my computer - add/remove programs to uninstall any programs you dont use.

run a defrag  and disk check on drive c:\

use the tool at start - run : msconfig

this tool will allow you to remove any unnessisary programs from starting on boot. don't worry. if you cancel them all from your startup your pc will still boot

  11. Perhaps, your PC needs defragmentation, and before doing that run 'disk cleanup' first.

To do this: start > all programs > accessories > system tools > disk cleanup.

Then a windows will pop-up and click on the 'files from all users on this computer' and then select C: and then again D: restore

After that: start > all programs > accessories > system tools > disk defragmenter.

If you haven't done for a long time, it'll take a few hours for it to complete.

Additionally, don't run any programs at all in the meantime. Just leave your PC be until it finish it progress.

Hope this would be of help.

  12. Do a disk cleanup and defragment (Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools) , purchase a registry cleaner. And change your startup settings in msconfig (Start > Run > type msconfig and click OK)

    Also get a spyware scanner.

  13. Some programs eat up your computers CPU speed. This can be checked through the task manager in the processes tab

Or try defragmenting. This will reorganize your files on the hard drive. But this will only work if your computer is cluttered from downloading and deleting over a long period of time.

  14. De fragment your HDD..

  15. Try doing a virus scan. Also, try and stop any programs that switch on when you boot the computer. Also switch the internet on after booting and not during it.
