My PC will not recognize my Zune (80GB) and won't charge the battery at all why?

My zune battery is completely dead. Plugged it into my PC and it doesn't recognize it, plugged it into my xbox 360, still no luck. The battery won't even charge at all.

Can you give a little more detail?

Was it charging fine before and now its not?

How old is it?

have you dropped it or damaged it in any way.

The zune uses a proprietary connection does it not (not a standard usb/mini usb connection on the player)?  

If theres anyone you know that has one you should try their cable just to check if one of the connections on your cable got damaged in connecting/disconnecting.

Most likely though the something on the circuit board inside failed and you'll probably need to get it serviced under warranty (i assume its under warranty since its less than a year old)
