Question:

My PS3 is overheating?

My ps3 games have lately started having weird graphical glitches like stretching, and discolored polygons. I give the system plenty of room, and my room isn't that hot anyway. But after like five minutes of play, I guess the thing gets a little hot, and it starts happening. I don't know if I should get a cooling device, or just send the thing in to get fixed. By the way, I have an original 60g if it helps.

  1. Given the info you provided, I'd guess the internal cooling fan broke down. You'll need to take it to your local dealer to fix it. If you don't, your PS3 will completely break down pretty fast from overheating.

  2. the 60gb ps3 are the older models, so they can have a few problems like overheating. If the ps3 internal fan isn't activating(turning on) when your ps3 gets hot, then there is probably something wrong with it. Possibly the internal fans broken. But graphical problems from the ps3 games like you mentioned usually aren't because of overheating, but something else that is wrong with the system. you should probably take it in and get it looked at.

  3. Contact Sony.

  4. Fan-next-2-it
