Ive had him for about 3 days now but he hasn't eaten anything yet he still is a juvenile around 1 month old. ive been offering him meal worms, wax worms, butter worms, crickets and locusts but no luck yet.

His enclosure is around 75F and i keep a under tank heat mat and humidity is always around 70-80%. i keep him in a well lit room so he can tell the difference between day and night. he did try to go for a cricket the first day i got him bu keep him in Eco Earth substrate i think thats coconut fiber. But when he tried to eat the cricket abit of substrate went into his mouth and he tried to spit it back out would that have put him off eating too.? any tips will be helpful

  1. i agree with swinnk8 except for the UV bit they dont need it and too high levels of UV can burn your frog UV is benificial bu not essentail and i would be making any changes to its tank for at least a month to aviod stress. if u do get a UV light get a low strength one (anything LOWER than a 5.0 (5.0 si too high)

MBD in horned frogs is pretty rare aslong as it gets it vitamins and calcium (provided by the reptile dust)

  2. Give him a week to settle in. Then try feeding him again.Stick to feeding crickets for now and do not handle him. To much stress will stop it eating.

Spray him with a product called stress ease and suppliment his crickets with nutrabol or a similar multivitamin powder.this frog should be sprayed twice a day

Make sure he has UVB lighting to help absorb the vitamin d3.

If he continues not to eat take him to a reptile vet. One of the reasons tropical frogs stop eating is a lack of vitamin d3 early on in their diet. Leaving this will cause metabolic bone disease and death.

You pacman/horned frog should be bedded on a coconut fibre substrate or a peat/leaf/moss mix.
