My Panasonic PV-GS250 stopped recording. I bought a head cleaner but that didn't work. Can anyone help me?

When I record you see scribbly lines all over and can barely tell what you just rewinded. I can play back tapes that I previously recorded and it played back just fine. I was in PR in the river canyoning and the computer fell in the water inside of the case and a plastic bag and it got a little wet but not much and that is when everything started going nuts.

it may need to go in for a professional head cleaning.

What is involved?

remove the tape door for access to the main head, a q-tip with acetone or denatured alcohol, spin the head manually, but do not touch the recording surface.

Then run a dry head cleaner.
