My Peach trees are dropping their peaches prematurely. Why?

We just moved a year ago and this is our first experience with fruit trees. We have several kinds. Our peach trees (two) are loaded but of course it's too early for them. They are small and still green. So why are they falling off the tree to the ground? About 1/3 have fallen off. We just noticed it today. They weren't like that yesterday.

  1. this happens with my dad's apple trees and pear. Our problem is the insects make the fruits rot and therefore die on the stems making them fall. I'm not exactly sure if this is happening to you, but if you look at the fallen fruit on the ground, there will be little holes. Also, many squirrles, birds and catepillars can cause them to fall.

Try to spray pesticides or net the desired fruit amount you would like to help protect them.

Also, weather could be an issue...
